What you will work on
- Design latching, alignment and damping mechanisms for CIRI.AB (berthing) and CIRI.AD (direct docking)
- Take mechanisms from concept through tolerance stack-ups and drawings to tested hardware
- Size and verify parts with FEA in Altair
- Build and run docking tests on our 4-DoF test stand
- Prepare units for thermal vacuum, vibration and shock testing
What you bring
- A degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering, or equivalent experience
- Mechanism design: kinematics, bearings, springs, actuators, tolerancing
- SolidWorks, and drawings a machine shop can build from
- Structural analysis with FEA (we use Altair)
- You like being in the lab as much as at the desk
Nice to have
- Space mechanisms or other flight hardware
- Dampers, latches or compliant mechanisms
- Enough KiCad to work with our electronics on sensors and actuators
Every role
How we work
Take the initiative
We are a startup. Bring your ideas, and the drive to verify them, even when resources are limited.
Freedom and responsibility
You get a lot of freedom, and the responsibility that comes with it. We cannot afford roles that own one narrow slice of the work, like simulation only.
T-shaped
Broad knowledge across the whole system, deep in one or two domains.
AI tools, used well
We use AI tools every day, in a structured, guided and verifiable way. We like people who already work like that.
We offer an employee stock option plan (ESOP) as an option.
